Visa Electron

To be accepted at POS terminals or integrated checkout systems only

1. Card logo – Visa Electron.
2. Name of the issuer bank.
3. Card number – invariably smooth, comprises 16 digits, starts with a “4”. It is possible that only the last four digits are displayed on the card.
3.1. Under the card number four digits are embossed in the card plastic. They must tally with the first four digits of the card number.
4. Card expiry date (may be left out):

  • the card is valid by the last date of the month specified as the expiry period (e.g. 12/23 – the card is valid by 31 December 2023).
  • in some cases may be specified the beginning of the card validity period – the card is valid from the first date of such period.

5. Inscription “ELECTRONIC USE ONLY” embossed in the card plastic (may be placed on the reverse).
6. The cardholder’s name and surname (may be omitted; on corporate payment cards may be displayed the company’s name, if the cardholder is the company). On cards of some banks the cardholder’s name and surname may be left out.
7. Signature panel on the reverse, which must hold the cardholder’s sample signature (it cannot bear any corrections). The signature must be present even in case there is no cardholder’s name and surname specified on the card. 
8. Magnetic strip of the card, which may hold the hologram (many flying pigeons that switch colour depending on the angle).

Visa


1. Card logo – the logo of Visa.
2. Hologram – a pigeon that switches colour when turned against light. The hologram may be placed on the reverse or on the magnetic strip (if so, there will be many flying pigeons).
3. Name of the issuer bank.
4. Raised or smooth card number - comprises 16 digits, starts with a “4”. If the card number is not raised the card must contain the reference “ELECTRONIC USE ONLY” and only the last four digits may be displayed thereon.
4.1.Under the card number four digits are embossed in the card plastic. They must tally with the first four digits of the card number.
5. Card expiry date (may be left out):
  • the card is valid by the last date of the month specified as the expiry period (e.g. 12/23 – the card is valid by 31 December 2023).
  • in some cases may be specified the beginning of the card validity period – the card is valid from the first date of such period.
6. The cardholder’s name and surname (may be displayed the company’s name, if the cardholder is the company). On cards of some banks the cardholder’s name and surname may be left out.
7. Signature panel on the reverse, which must hold the cardholder’s sample signature (it cannot bear any corrections). 
7.1. The upper part of the signature panel must hold 4 or 16 digits printed in Italic complete with a special three-digit code. The printed number (without the special three-digit code), if any, must tally with the card number on the front side or the last 4 digits thereof and the electronically read card number printed on the transaction document – the slip – or the last 4 digits thereof (in case of using a POS terminal)  
8. Magnetic strip of the card, which may hold the hologram (many flying pigeons). 

MasterCard


1. Card logo – the logo of MasterCard.*
2. Name of the issuer bank.
3. Hologram – two halves of the globe (two hemispheres), which will switch colours when turned against the light. The hologram may also be placed on the reverse or on the magnetic strip.  
4. Raised or smooth card number - comprises 16 digits, starts with a “5”. If the card number is not raised the card must contain the reference “ELECTRONIC USE ONLY” and only the last four digits may be displayed thereon.
 4.1. Under the card number four digits are embossed in the card plastic. They must tally with the first four digits of the card number.
5. Card expiry date:
  • the card is valid by the last date of the month specified as the expiry period (e.g. 12/23 – the card is valid by 31 December 2023).
  • in some cases may be specified the beginning of the card validity period – the card is valid from the first date of such period.
6. The cardholder’s name and surname (may be displayed the company’s name).
7. Signature panel on the reverse, which must hold the cardholder’s sample signature (it cannot bear any corrections). The signature panel features a tricolour (blue, red, yellow) inscription “MasterCard” in Italic.
7.1. The upper part of the signature panel holds 4 or 16 digits printed in Italic complete with a special three-digit code. The code may be printed on the white space adjacent to the signature strip. The printed number (without the special three-digit code) must tally with the card number or the last 4 digits thereof and the electronically read card number printed on the transaction document – the slip – or the last 4 digits thereof 
8. Magnetic strip of the card, which may hold the hologram.
* PLEASE, NOTE! If there is the MasterCard logo and reference to the “Diners Club International” simultaneously displayed on the card, it is a Diners Club card, which can be accepted only in case your company has entered into an agreement on acceptance of Diners Club cards!

Maestro


To be accepted at POS terminals or integrated checkout systems only

1. Card logo – Maestro. Logo may be placed on the reverse and can be black-and-white.
2. Name of the issuer bank.
3. Card number – comprises 12 to 19 digits, starts with “6XXXXX” or “5XXXXX” (except for 59XXXXX), may also be raised. If full card number is not displayed on the card, part of the card number printed on the POS terminal slip must tally with the number on the card.
4. Card expiry date - the card is valid by the last date of the month specified as the expiry period (e.g. 12/23 – the card is valid by 31 December 2023). Maestro cards may be valid by 31 December 2049 (the card expiry date will be specified as 12/49).
5. Cardholder’s name and surname.
6. Signature panel on the reverse, which must hold the cardholder’s sample signature (it cannot bear any corrections).
7. Magnetic strip of the card.
